CAMPUS EDUCATION IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING SUMMARY
Volume IV, No. 2 January 27, 2010
Regular Meeting
The Campus Education Improvement Committee met on January 27, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. in the JH library.
Members Present
Present at the meeting were: KC Garnett, Paige Burgin, Stephanie Brock, Mike Pearson, Brian Beck, Brenda Pierson, Steve Walker, and Shane Whiteley.
Guests present: none
Discussion
- The meeting began with a welcome by Shane Whiteley.
- Members were presented the minutes from the last CEIC meeting (November 11, 2009) and the minutes were approved as presented.
- Mr. Whiteley presented the Spearman Junior High Parent Involvement Policy. It was approved as presented.
- There was some discussion on the needs assessment. Mr. Whiteley presented the results of the DEIC needs assessment and there was some discussion about whether any other item needs to be added to the Campus Improvement Plan. The committee felt like nothing needed to be added.
- The committee then divided the CIP and read over it one last time. It was noted that the changes that were suggested at the last meeting were made and in the current plan. There was some discussion about strategies and acronyms in the plan.
- The CEIC approved the campus plan as presented.
- Mr. Whiteley then informed the committee that Spearman Junior High has been recognized by TEA as a Title I, Part A Distinguished Performance School. SJH is the only junior high in the Texas Panhandle and 1 of only 14 junior high schools in the state to receive this award.
