I have been extremely lucky to have taught at Gus Birdwell Elementary for 30 years. I have gotten to work with some exceptional teachers and students. I have taught ESL, Special Ed., Kindergarten and RTI Reading and Math. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching all of it. I have my BS degree in Home Economics: Early Childhood - Pre-K - 8th grade, from the University of Tennessee. I taught school in Tennessee for 8 years before I moved here. So I have 39 years of experience after this year. I have been married to Bruce Stinson for 28 years. We had two children that attended the Spearman schools. My son, Adam Cherry, is the head tennis coach at Lovejoy High School near Dallas. He also has his masters in Accounting. He is married to Baleigh Walker, a lawyer. My daughter, Jena Davis, is a loan officer for NRL Mortage in Amarillo. She also has her realty license. We have one granddaughter, Perrilyn Davis.
