Hello, and welcome to the SHS Art page! I began my journey at Spearman High School teaching the art classes in the 2014 - 15 school year, as a first year teacher. Since then, I have discovered that teaching Art is one of the greatest passions in my life, next to being a wife and mother. My husband and I have three children; two daughters and one son. I graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts in 2013 and went on to attend graduate school at West Texas A&M University, where I also earned my teaching certification.
The art program had roughly 80 students when I came to Spearman in 2014, and now currently has 120 students! Art class is a very student driven class, meaning that students are given many choices for using art as a way to express themselves. This class is an opportunity for students to learn about artistic concepts and techniques, experiment with a variety of media, and connect with multiple styles and concepts in the art world. Students can take this class knowing that they will learn many different ways of creating art and will understand that there is more to art than simply drawing. Thank you for allowing me to share my passion with your children!
