Lion’s Club Students of the Month
The March Lion’s Club Students of the Month at Spearman High School High School are seniors, Mariarebeca Rosendo and Daniel Quezada.
Mariarebeca is the daughter of Armando and Rebeca Rosendo. She has one older sister, Blanca Raya. Mariarebeca has been active in Spearman Lynx Marching Band, National Honor Society, Student Council, Art Club, FCCLA, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Texas Panhandle. She is serving as the current Historian for National Honor Society and Historian for FCCLA. Mariarebeca was a State Qualifier for Solo and Ensemble her junior and senior years in band, made the All-Region Band her freshman and sophomore years, was a State Qualifier for Life Event Planning in FCCLA her junior year, and was an Area Qualifier in Art for the past four years of high school. In her spare time, Mariarebeca enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as doing anything artsy. Her future plans include attending Midwestern State University where she plans on obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. Mariarebeca states the best thing about Spearman is, “The fact that the community is so small and everyone knows each other.” The best thing about Spearman High School is, “I like the friendly and supportive staff. They really encourage you every day to strive towards success.” Mariarebeca’s most influential teachers during her school years are Mrs. Katy George and Mr. Mike Rountree.
Daniel is the son of Cynthia Regalado. He has one older sister, Chasity Corral, and one younger sister, Novali Regalado. Daniel has been active in Spearman Lynx Football, - 4 years, FFA – 3 years, and FCCLA – 4 years. Daniel placed 8th in the Tractor Tech competition in FFA and he also recently qualified for State FCCLA by placing 2nd in the Regional FCCLA job interview competition. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys shooting, agriculture, boxing, and business. Daniel’s future plans include pursuing the John Deere Equipment Technology Program through Garden City Community College and Western Equipment. Daniel states the best thing about Spearman is, “I like my friends and the place I work – I just cherish the little things.” Daniel says the best thing about Spearman High School is, “I like how small it is and that I know everyone.” Daniel’s most influential teacher during his school years is Dr. Michael Ralston, because he has always had hope and belief in me and he has watched me grow up.
