Health and Safety

With the current increased focus on the mental health of students, Spearman ISD is committed to providing the resources and support needed by our school community.  The implementation of social-emotional learning programs, the provision of individual counseling resources for students and the formation of a district level intervention team are just some of the ways we are meeting this growing challenge.  Our intervention efforts our led by our full-time GBE and SJH counselors and part-time SHS counselor. The mental health of our students and staff is an integral part of safety at Spearman ISD.  The participation and support of our students, staff and entire Spearman community play a vital role in helping us keep our commitment to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all Spearman ISD students.

At Spearman ISD, the safety of students, staff and visitors is our top priority and we take this responsibility very seriously.  We are intentional and proactive in our approach to school safety and security. Our comprehensive security program includes prevention, intervention, student assistance, preparedness, emergency response along with building and network security.

At Spearman ISD we are constantly exploring new ways to enhance existing security measures and adopting those policies and protocols proven to be effective in reducing risk.

Safety at Spearman ISD is truly a team effort. We rely on the continued support of students, parents and the community to keep our schools safe. We work closely with our local police and fire departments and EMS to coordinate prevention and response activities. Spearman ISD continues to perform regular security audits and provide frequent training to all employees on security issues.
