January is School Board Appreciation Month. The consumer science classes prepared a meal and served to the members. This year's theme is Locally Elected, Community Connected. The students researched Hansford County history and created a timeline of historical events, and decorated with pictures from the past. Thank you, Mrs. Meiwes and students for a beautiful evening to celebrate the hard work of the members.
Congratulations to the Spearman High School Lion's Club Student's on the Month, Vanelli Delgado and Jaxon Dettmer.
On Saturday three Spearman High School Students went to Plainview and competed in the Western Equipment Ag Invitational. This competition is only open to current high school Juniors and Seniors who are all competing for scholarships and prizes against 200 other students from a 4-state radius of Texas!
Spearman has competed in this Western Equipment Invitational for the last three years and has come home with some prizes and scholarships.
Saturday was not any different. Miles Mathews, Senior at Spearman High School, placed 2nd in the Electrical Component portion of the Invitational.
In the overall Invitational, Miles Mathews placed 8th Individual overall.
So proud of these guys for going and getting out of their comfort zone and competing!!
