Gus Birdwell Elementary is hosting its annual Thanksgiving lunch Tomorrow, November 16th. Parents and grandparents are invited to come eat with their student(s). Lunches will be served at regular times on this day. All guest lunches are $5. Only cash will be accepted. All guests must check in at the front entrance of the elementary. Please allow time to check in and purchase your lunch ticket.
Due to construction at the front entrance of the high school , all visitors must enter through the SISD business office by the tennis courts. The construction should be completed by Friday, but more information may be provided. Thank you for your cooperation.

Leadership Development Events (LDE) help students develop critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills, foster teamwork and promote communication while recognizing the value of ethical competition and individual achievement. The consumer science classes prepared a beautiful presentation of food for the Veteran's Day reception.
Today was a wonderful celebration and appreciation to the veterans of Hansford county and beyond. The community, parents, students, and staff were moved by the incredible speech given by Nathan Steger. The beautiful music preformed by the 3rd and 4th grade students and high school band was amazing, and the high school students did a great job with the introductions.

The Congressional Debate team recently participated in a competition held on November 7th in Amarillo. Ryan Vazquez, Genesis Chavira, Cady Barrett, Avren Delozier, and Acey Womble. We're thrilled to announce that Cady secured 1st place, with Avren taking 4th place. Genesis also made us immensely proud by clinching 7th place, and the Outstanding Presiding Officer award. Well done, team!

All are welcome to attend. Please note that for the event, attendees must enter through the junior high main entrance.
Mrs. Roberts' Art 1 students worked on acrylic painting sugar skulls for Day of the Dead. We have some talented students!
Mrs. Roberts' Art 2 students created Day of the Dead foil embossing designs. They sketched out their designs first, then embossed them onto the foil and added color. Many of the students used the marigold flower, which is a common flower for this holiday.
