Nelly Rosendo teaches first grade English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) at Gus Birdwell Elementary. She graduated from Spearman High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University.
Rosendo enjoys many things about her job including getting daily hugs from her students and watching them grow as readers.
“After I got my haircut, one of my students noticed and asked me about it. He immediately let me know the hairdresser had done a bad job because it was cut here and there. He was very concerned! I smiled and explained that was called layers. He asked me if I had asked for that which I replied, “Yes”. His response was, “It looks great then!” laughed Rosendo.
Making a positive impact on her students and continuing to learn and grow in the profession are goals Rosendo has set for herself.
Keep up the great work. You are making a difference in the lives of your students. They will always remember their first-grade teacher!
