Jamie Greene joins GBE as a Special Education teacher, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the education field.
Raised in a ranching and farming family, Jamie proudly carries her rural roots with her. She's no stranger to hard work—skilled in operating tractors, combines, grain carts, and working with horses.
She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from West Texas A&M University.
In her free time, Jamie enjoys caring for her farm animals, riding horses, and gardening. When she's not on the farm, you'll likely find her in the mountains hiking or fly fishing. Above all, she treasures time spent with her family and three grandchildren.

Macie Bhakta joins GBE as a kindergarten teacher. Before coming to Spearman, she taught in Sunray. She and her husband are thrilled to be growing their family with a new baby on the way!
Macie is a proud graduate of Angelo State University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She has a passion for travel and loves attending sporting events of all kinds.

Angel Mendoza has joined SISD as the newest employee for the 2025–2026 school year. Currently a junior at SHS, he will be working in the maintenance department as a groundskeeper. Angel brings prior experience to the maintenance department from working at a motor repair shop. He has two brothers, and his future goal is to become an electrician.

Attention ALL Seniors and Senior parents. FAFSA Night is next Tuesday, September 16 at 6pm at the High School Auditorium.
SISD: If your child qualifies for free lunch, they are eligible to receive a free sack lunch on Mondays when school is not in session.
Lunches will be available for pickup at 10:00 AM behind the cafeteria doors (located in the elementary gym parking lot). Your child must be present to receive the meal.

Anne Marie Diaz is a proud paraprofessional at Spearman ISD and a graduate of the district herself. She went on to study photography at the Art Institute of Houston.
Anne Marie and her husband are proud parents of two children.
In addition to her work in education, Anne Marie serves as a dedicated volunteer with the local fire department, where she holds the roles of Vice President and Fire Prevention Coordinator. Her commitment and service have been recognized with the Rookie of the Year award in 2016 and Firefighter of the Year in 2024.
In her free time, she enjoys supporting her children in AAU competitive gymnastics and caring for a small herd of cattle.

High school student, Bella, is working on a project for the Vase Art contest.
Emily Navarro is a paraprofessional at GBE. She is originally from Washington State and lived in Wyoming for ten years. She has completed two years at Western Wyoming Community College.
She has been a housekeeping supervisor, shift lead at a restaurant and hotel receptionist.
She is one of nine children and has many nieces and nephews. She enjoys taking her dog for walks, and cooking.

Filiberto Avila is a graduate of Spearman High School and West Texas A&M University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He also completed a certificate in Leadership through the Dyky and Terry Rogers Leadership Education and Development Program.
Avila recently was a Fulbright Scholar and Adjunct professor at the IE of School of Humanities, IE University (Madrid and Segovia, Spain.
He enjoys learning about cultural differences and is also passionate about leadership. He especially enjoys traveling and photography.

Abby Jordan is a math teacher at Spearman Junior High and also serves as an assistant coach for the girls’ athletic programs. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU).

Texas, Before the Lone Star is a historical book about how Spanish American ancestors helped with the American Revolutionary War. The stories in the book are written by TXDAR(Daughters of the American Revolution) Daughters .
Wolf Creek Chapter has donated books and stuffies to each 4th grade classroom in Spearman and several other surrounding schools.
