School Counseling Week is a special opportunity to express our gratitude for the incredible work of our counselors. They tirelessly support both students and staff, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all who seek guidance. We are deeply appreciative of their dedication and the invaluable role they play in our community.
Spearman High School recently had the privilege of welcoming 20 new members into the National Honor Society (NHS). To be eligible for NHS, students must exemplify the pillars of character, leadership, service, and academic integrity. As part of the ceremony, 2001 Spearman High School Graduate, Sally Pittman Hawkins, took the stage to speak on the significance of these four qualities.
With heartfelt personal stories and experiences, Hawkins brought the message to life, passionately sharing why it matters to go out into the world and become a person who not only leads by example but also inspires others to do the same. Her words resonated deeply, reminding the students of the impact they can have by modeling positive behavior and empowering others to be their best.
Hawkins, the daughter of Bill and Ginger Pittman, is a proud mother of three and the president of Panhandle First Bank. In her role, she leads with integrity and sets a high standard for others to follow.
Congratulations to the new NHS members for their outstanding achievements and commitment to excellence! Keep striving to be the leaders and change-makers our world needs.

Congratulations to Ryan Vasquez for qualifying for state in Congressional Debate! He competed in Austin and proudly represented the school district.
The other members of the Congressional Debate team were fortunate to share in on the experience of the high level competition at the state level.
A special thank you to Roger Morton and Dave Richmond for their coaching and support throughout this event.
On Friday, January 24th, eight Spearman swimmers competed at the District 3-4a Swim meet in Lubbock. The boys team, consisting of: Matt Allen, Maddox Ortiz, Ayden Peigne, Kaleb Puentes, Erick Reyes, Dallen Scroggs, and Oaklee Womble placed 3rd overall in the district, medaling in the 200m freestyle relay, 400 relay, and 3rd in the medley relay. Acey Womble placed 10th in the 50 freestyle and 8th in the 100 breaststroke. Incredible job to the athletes and coaches! 💥🏅
