Spearman High School Spanish Club had an unforgettable experience during our recent Spring Trip to Amarillo! The highlight of the day was an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of NewsChannel10/Telemundo Amarillo, where students explored the impact of Spanish-language media in the Texas Panhandle and engaged directly with professionals in the field. Students learned firsthand about careers in media, including: 📰 News anchors 🌦️ Meteorologists 🎤 Reporters 🎬 News producers Through their conversations with the Telemundo Amarillo team, students gained a deeper understanding of how Spanish-language news serves and connects communities across our region. To make the experience even more memorable, our students were featured on-air and gave a special shoutout to Spearman! 👏 In addition, students participated in team-building activities at Cinergy Amarillo, where they strengthened collaboration and communication skills through escape rooms and laser tag challenges. From media and communication to teamwork and cultural awareness, this trip brought learning to life in meaningful and memorable ways. We are incredibly proud of our students for representing Spearman High School with professionalism, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the day. Spearman FFA has been putting in the miles this week! From the panhandle to Tarleton State University, Spearman FFA has been represented this week by a great group of kids! Congratulations to the Spearman FFA Dairy Cattle team on placing 10th out of 111 teams at Glen Rose and 9th out of 151 teams at the Tarleton Invitational. Wish these guys luck as they continue to compete!

Spearman ISD is proud to recognize our UIL Academic speaking competitors at the district meet! 🎤✨ These students competed in Persuasive Speaking, Informative Speaking, and Poetry, representing Spearman with professionalism and excellence. From left to right: Ryan Vasquez, Mary Pearson, Vylainne Garcia, Adley Barclay, Izzabella Slover, Valeria Enríquez, and Bryce Swanson. In Informative Speaking, Valeria Enríquez placed 2nd and Vylainne Garcia placed 3rd, advancing to finals. While they did not advance to regionals, we are incredibly proud of their achievement and all of our competitors’ hard work.
