GBE and Junior High will be participating in Red Ribbon Week, October 28-31. Tuesday: Team up against drugs - wear your favorite jersey/team gear! Wednesday: Pledge to be drug free - wear red! Thursday - Give drugs the boot - wear your boots and western gear! Friday - Scare away drugs - wear your Halloween costume! (Dress code will be enforced. No fake blood, masks, or weapons).
SHS Spanish Club members and sponsors Stephania Hernandez Martinez and Filiberto Avila visited Texas Tech University, where they met with the Hispanic Student Society and Dr. Andy Reynolds, Director of the Spanish Department. During their visit, they also had the opportunity to engage with professors from the Department of Classical & Modern Languages and Literatures. Students learned about the historical roots of the Spanish language in our region and discussed the cultural and professional value of studying Spanish. The visit highlighted how pursuing a minor or major in Spanish can open doors to a wide range of academic and career opportunities
