Courtney Bruner is a paraprofessional at Gus Birdwell Elementary (GBE). She was a substitute teacher prior to being hired full-time at GBE.
“She has a heart for the kids; she is levelheaded and never loses her cool (seriously NEVER),” shared Alexis Beck, Gus Birdwell Elementary Principal. “She pushes the students to be their best, and lastly, she is loving and kind,” added Beck.
Bruner is a member of the District Education Improvement Committee. “She is always first to volunteer when I ask for help anywhere on campus,” stated Beck. “She is flexible and a helpful teammate and co-worker. She is a blessing on our campus,” said Beck.

The SISD Board of Education recognized the Lion's Club Student's of the Month. Congratulations to Emily Vigil (October Student of the Month), Celeste Valles (November Student of the Month) and Jeb Garnett (November Student of the Month).

November Employee of the Month
Jenna Williams teaches science at Spearman High School. She coaches Cross Country, Basketball, and Track.
“She embodies the spirit of flexibility and handling challenges head-on with a positive attitude. There have been several occasions over the last year in which Coach Williams has seemingly just popped out of nowhere to help with some very difficult tasks, like setting up the gymnasium for graduation," shared James Layman, Spearman High School Principal.
Layman stated, “Coach Williams knows how to draw confidence out of her students, and this previous year's STAAR data shows that she enables her students to be successful no matter the situation.
If you are needing a boost, Williams can help you out. “It's impossible to not be around Coach Williams and smile. Her sense of humor and overall attitude instantly puts you in a better mood. Spearman HS was lucky when Coach Williams chose to work with us,” added Layman.

SISD Board of Education recognized the 8th grade Students of the Month. Congratulations to Yahira Aguilera and Lane Lusby!

Congratulations to the 2022 football players and athletic trainers for being named Academic All-District! Keep up the great work.
