Staff Spotlight Clarissa Correa teaches second grade at Gus Birdwell Elementary (GBE). Prior to starting her career in the classroom, she was the GBE librarian. She and her fiancé, Martin Vela, have one daughter. She is a graduate of Spearman High School and West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). Her awards include being a member of WTAMU Dean’s List. She enjoys family time, reading, and doing crafts in her spare time. Earning her bachelor’s degree is not her last stop in college as she plans to work on her master’s degree in the future. Lynxette Basketball players participated in a 5,000 shooting club over the summer. Their goal is to make 5,000 shots over the course of the summer. These shots are accumulative over their career; in addition they must break one 5000 make milestone to move to the next. Staff Spotlight Brandie Parker teaches sixth grade math at Spearman Junior High. She is married and has two children. Her youngest daughter is a senior at Spearman High School. She has one granddaughter. She previously worked at Perryton ISD. She graduated from Dumas High School and earned her bachelor’s degree at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). Parker plans to continue working for Spearman ISD for years and retire here one day. Traveling and yard work are things she enjoys doing. Summer is a fun time for her because she especially enjoys gardening and working in her flower beds. Welcome to Spearman ISD, Mrs. Parker!

Staff Spotlight Kay Hull is a paraprofessional at Spearman Junior High. She is married to Wes, and they have nine children all together. The nine children include three bonus kids and three foreign exchange students. They have 20 grandchildren! She is currently studying at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) and is working on her teaching certification. Learning new things, cooking, baking, and sewing are among her favorite things to do in her spare time. She and her husband also enjoy traveling and hope to fill their bucket list by traveling to all fifty states. She looks forward to earning her degree and pursuing a career in teaching. Staff Spotlight Ryan Lane is the assistant band director at Spearman High School and Spearman Junior High. He is the son of the late Kevin Lane and LuAnn Lane. He has one sister. Before moving to Spearman, he worked at Midland, Texas as a low brass clinician and private teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). His honors include playing in the WTAMU Symphonic Band at the Texas Educators Music Association (TEMA) and College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) conventions. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Kappa Kappa Psi. Lane’s hobbies include following Drum Corps International, playing trombone, and listening to jazz music. He plans to continue teaching kids to grow and love the power of music. Welcome to SISD, Mr. Lane!

Julie Pittman teaches junior high social studies and pre-K, kindergarten physical education. She and her husband Luke have three grown children who graduated from Spearman High School. Pittman taught at Guymon ISD and taught gymnastics for several years. She graduated high school from Chesaning, Michigan and attended York College, York, Nebraska earning her associate’s degree. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Harding University, Searcy, Arkansas. Guymon ISD celebrated Pittman as the Teacher of the Year for North Park School. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, playing pickle ball, hiking, and reading. She plans to continue working for Spearman ISD and be more involved in the community where she works and lives and spending more time with family and friends. Welcome, Julie Pittman!

Spearman ISD Staff Spotlight Bruce Bailey is the assistant band director at Spearman High and Spearman Junior High. He is the son of Esabel Meland, Bruce Bailey SR, and David Thurman. His previous employment was in Clayton, New Mexico where he served as the band director. He grew up in Roswell, NM and earned his bachelor and master’s degrees from Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU), Portales, NM. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Theta Zeta of ENMU, Portales. In his spare time, he enjoys walking his dog, video games, and playing the flute. Welcome to SISD, Mr. Bailey!
