The Class of 2025 had a great visit from Texas Tech University today. TTU got to enjoy our students being dressed up for Safari Day during Homecoming Week! We appreciate all of the information shared by Texas Tech!


Come out and celebrate the 2024, Lynx Legacy Distinguished Alumni, Elizabeth Pipkin. The reception in her honor will follow the homecoming pep rally.

SISD Staff Spotlight
Sherry Boyd is teaching English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) at Spearman High School. Boyd is not new to Spearman ISD. She taught at the elementary campus for eighteen years before retiring.
Boyd and her husband Willis have three children and four grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys chasing the grandkids in their activities.
Oklahoma Panhandle State University is where Boyd earned her bachelor’s degree in education, graduating magna sum laude.
She is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) and serves as the treasurer, board member of the Association of Professional Educators (ATPE), past president of Region 16 Board of Directors for ATPE, and local president of Classroom Teachers Association.

SISD Staff Spotlight
Johnathan Cordell is teaching social studies at Spearman High School and coaching. He has two daughters.
He previously coached and taught at Fritch ISD.
Cordell earned his bachelor’s degree from West Texas A &M University and master’s degree from Lamar University.
In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and watching football. His future goals include being an administrator.

Homecoming week has been celebrated across the campuses. Dress up days get everyone fired up for a Lynx victory! Today is duo day.


Our 4th graders recently researched facts about September 11th. They wrote letters and made posters for our local first responders. Today, they had an opportunity to ask questions and interact with them. It was great to have our first responders teach our 4th graders about their service. THANK YOU to all the first responders for everything that you do! We are forever grateful!







Students who are interested in joining FCCLA are invited to attend the informational meeting on September 19th during Prep Time.

SISD Staff Spotlight
Autumn Robison is the secretary at Gus Birdwell Elementary. She and her husband, Bryan, have four children and three grandchildren.
Robison earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico with a triple concentration in history, communication, and sociology.
Before working for SISD, she worked in the banking, insurance, and irrigation businesses. She comes to SISD with a great deal of business experience.
She was a member of the Return On Quality (ROQ) Award and a member of The Business of the Year with Basin Pump and Supply Co. 2022.
Her hobbies include freeze drying goodies, baking, jewelry making, and adventure cooking. In the future, she plans to build a legacy for her family not only in wealth but wisdom as well.

Spearman ISD Adult ESL classes will begin Monday, September 23rd. Classes will be held at Gus Birdwell Elementary on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm. Bring a spiral notebook and binder to class.

Caleb Hidalgo is a paraprofessional at Gus Birdwell Elementary (GBE). He graduated from Pratt High School in Pratt, Kansas.
His previous employment included Skyland Grain and Kroger Grocery.
Hidalgo enjoys learning languages and working with computers. He plans to get a bachelor's degree in cyber security and then study the stock market.

GBE would like to give Farm Bureau a big THANK YOU for these really neat educational boxes! They donated one to each grade, 1st - 5th. It comes with a DVD, curriculum, and items for the kids to feel each stage of cotton and learn all it’s by products, too.
It is a great way to bring AG awareness to our kids, and we are grateful!


Wishing our Spearman Jr. High and Spearman High School cross-country teams the best of luck at the XC Badger Run taking place today at Amarillo College (West Campus)!

Kari Cunnigham teaches English at Spearman High School. She previously taught at Amarillo ISD.
She holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Montana.
She enjoys refinishing furniture, drawing, Pokemon Go, reading, and insect collecting.
