

Tammy Kay Batton is a familiar face at SISD, having served as the high school administrative assistant for 18 years. She now steps into a new role as the high school librarian.
Tammy is a graduate of Spearman High School and continued her education at Amarillo College and Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She and her husband, Stephen, have two children and four grandchildren. Her future goals include enjoying life and spending quality time with her family.

Michelle Piatt joins GBE as a paraprofessional. A proud mother of four daughters, Michelle previously worked as a substitute teacher before stepping into her current role.
She began pursuing a degree in nursing but chose to pause her studies to stay home and focus on raising her children.
Now committed to putting down roots in Spearman, she looks forward to raising her family in the community. In her free time, Michelle enjoys hiking, traveling, gardening, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Spearman FFA will hold a LIVESTOCK meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd @6:00PM in the Ag room. This meeting is MANDATORY for anyone wanting to show livestock under Spearman FFA. Validation, county and major shows will be discussed.




Callie Wilkerson is now teaching science at Spearman Junior High, where she joins her husband, Jack. Together, they are proud parents of three daughters.
A graduate of Spearman High School, Callie went on to earn her bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M University. She is actively involved in her church and loves spending time with her family.

Chelsea Born joins Gus Birdwell Elementary as a first-grade teacher. She brings valuable experience from her previous teaching roles in Boise City, Oklahoma, and Friona, Texas.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and was recently honored as the 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year at Friona Primary School—a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and excellence in the classroom.
Born and her husband are proud parents to their infant son. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, watching hockey, and relaxing with a good movie.
Her goal is to continue growing as an educator and to make a positive impact on her students every day.

A proud graduate of Spearman High School, Halston Abercrombie returns to her alma mater as the new Family and Consumer Science teacher at SHS. She is excited to join the high school faculty, especially alongside her mother, who also teaches at SHS.
Previously, she taught fifth grade and is now setting her sights on earning a master’s degree in the field of education.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys baking, cooking, hiking, kayaking, skiing, working out—truly anything that gets her outdoors.

SISD New Staff Spotlight
Dr. Kimberly Conyers joins Gus Birdwell Elementary as the school counselor, bringing a wealth of experience across multiple areas in education. Her background includes classroom teaching, coaching, administration, college-level instruction, and school counseling—making her a true asset to our campus and district.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, a master’s degree from West Texas A&M University, and a doctorate from Baylor University.
Dr. Conyers and her husband are proud parents of five children. Over the years, she has earned numerous awards and honors, including an Exemplary Campus A-Rating during her time as principal at West Texas and Gruver ISDs, a National Blue-Ribbon distinction at Gruver ISD, the Spirit of the Sower award at OPSU, and recognition as a Baylor Ambassador.
In her free time, she enjoys chasing after her kids, watching sports, traveling, and reading. Her goal is to make a meaningful impact at Spearman ISD—and someday, retire to a relaxing beach!

Kassidy Baker is the high school counselor at SHS. She and her husband are proud parents of two children. Before joining SHS, she served as the counselor at Follett ISD.
She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Texas A&M University. A recipient of the Horatio Alger State Scholar award, she is an active member of the Horatio Alger Alumni Association as well as the Follett Educational Corporation.
Kassidy looks forward to making Spearman her forever home. In her free time, she enjoys reading, photography, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Gyene Spivey teaches fourth grade at Gus Birdwell Elementary and brings a wealth of life experience to the classroom. A proud mother of three grown children, she also enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In her spare time, she stays active as a member of the Ham Radio Club and a dedicated Red Cross volunteer—roles that have earned her several plaques of recognition over the years.
When she’s not volunteering or teaching, she enjoys sewing, gardening, and most of all, being with her family.

Luis Antonio Raya Barajas started working for SISD in the fall of 2025. He works in maintenance. His family includes Justine Rosales and three children.
He enjoys gaming and building things.

Trenton Finley is teaching health at Spearman Junior High. He will also be an assistant girls’ basketball ,cross country and track. coach Trenton is married to Stephanie and they have two sons.
Finley’s previous experience comes from the University of Missouri Science and Technology. He was a successful track coach and took an athlete to nationals this past season.
He holds a bachelor of science degree and masters of education degree in Athletic Administration.
Finley holds several awards: 3x All American Division 2 Track and Field, Southwest Baptist Rex Brown Award, and 5th place at Division 2 Nationals.
He hopes to one day own and run a sports facility with his wife. He enjoys spending time with family, doing any type of sport, and working.
